KITCHEN

The heart of the home! Very excited to have a brand new kitchen. During our first colour appointment we picked our colours/finishes and then later had an appointment with Brindabella Kitchens to finalise the design.

Fowler uses Silestone for their stone benchtops and we chose ‘Yukon’ which is a colour within our inclusions. It is an offwhite/light grey colour with a cloudy stone texture.

I really love white kitchens but also love the matt black look that is in at the moment. Initially we had decided on doing our island bench in matt black all other cabinetry in white, however after researching and speaking with Keisha at Brindabella we decided to stick with white throughout. Matt black is beautiful but with small children and the millions of fingerprints they create I am already cleaning enough as it is and I’ve heard matt black shows up fingerprints and marks alot.

Splashback - this has suprisingly been one of my toughest decisions! Glass or Tiles!?? We did pick a glass colour when selecting our other kitchen colours - which is a very light grey colour, called Glazier on Starfire.
When we were at Abruzzo we looked at tile options for the splashback and got pricing. After changing our minds several times we decided on going with the glass splashback. Seeing photos of the Belmont on display at Thornton, Newcastle helped me decide. The kitchen has similar colouring to ours and also has our tap upgrade and the glass splashback looks great! Heres what it looks like -

Included in our Platinum upgrades are really great appliances! (Part of the reason we decided to go with this upgrade)
Oven - SMEG freestanding oven and gas cooktop 900mm
Rangehood - SMEG canopy 900mm
Dishwasher - SMEG freestanding DWAU6214X
Microwave - SMEG FME120

The tap within our inclusions was quite nice but I fell inlove with a stainless/matt black tap that Fowler sometimes uses in their display homes. I like how it is a mixture of the matt black and stainless and think it ties in really well with the other appliances which are predominantly stainless with touches of matt black. Here it is -

Below are the plans for our kitchen, we also have a Butlers pantry and have decided to deck this out ourselves after handover.
